A Touch of Spring

OK so looking outside today you wouldn't know that spring is only about 3 weeks away, but last week it felt like it was coming sooner and I was thinking a spring card would be fun. So I did my usual, think of what I want to do and then try to put it into practice. So again I wanted to use a stamp set that I have... so I decided "Pick a Petal" and "stem Sayings" would be appropriate. I have to say I have only used this set a few times, but I do like its possibilities. So then I thought it would be neat to 3D the petals. so first I had to come up with colours to use. which I have to say I find the hardest part. I try to use my colour wheel, but in the end I just end up pulling out a million colours and finally finding a combination I like. So after trying to use Designer Series Paper for the petals, I decided that wouldn't work as its not as stiff as Card stock.

So after thinking, I decided why not make a Daisy (my favorite flower) and go from there, which means white petals. and then I kinda came up with Summer Sun, Kiwi Kiss and Elegant Eggplant (I think that's the right name) and added a bit of ribbon. I then took a sponge dauber and summer sun ink to add dimension on the edge of the card. I did hit the petals, trying to be light, one petal, has a few darker spots, but that's OK. As usual I still think my card is missing something. I could have maybe used a background stamp, or added another colour... I was more into figuring out the 3D flower. but what I like about Stamping, is there is never anything right or wrong, its all about being creative and growing. Please post some comments, and as always I am ready for suggestions!
